I was at RAF Wethersfield from July 84 to Dec 89 and my name then was Bev Gravely. I married and English guy and my married name became Beverly Moore. That relationship lasted 6 yrs and after another failed marriage, my situation is "footloose and fancyfree". I am an "Able Seaman" now and would love to hear from anyone who was at Wethersfield when I was there.

I was stationed at Wethersfield 1984 to 1990 and it was a wonderful time for me. I was in the 7119th ABF and have wondered what happened to certain friends. I would like to hear from Tom Sams, Foster Smith, and English friends who worked at the base, like Niccola Foster and Jane Hitchcock. I have since retired from active duty and now work as a Merchant Seaman and am pursuing my second career. Would love to hear from anyone who was there from July 84 thru Dec 89.

My father was stationed at Wethersfield from '64 to'67, and to be a kid there at that time was something special. Greetings to all who served there and lived there in the past. I have some memories that I'm sure other dependants can relate to! The summers in England were awesome. We lived on the circle and I remember how all the kids would gather to play hide and seek. We had some mean games of hide and seek. Of course, it did not get dark until almost 10p, so the games were cut short because of how late it was, and how young we were. We played in the base ditch until we wore it out. I remember one day a bunch of us kids got chased out of a nearby wheatfield by a base helicopter. I still remember the orange and white color on it! Other great times were playing four square on the base circle, throwing our homemade parachutes and building models. Watching "Lost in Space" (in black and white) when you got home from school. Birthday parties with other kids, sleepovers, playing army, and who can forget during the winter months, playing in the snow, and even building a fort out of snow. I saw "A Hard Days Night" at the base theatre. Great memory with all the girls screamin'.
Some names that I remember from the past...Mark Boshoven, from school, he was really good at drawing with a pencil...Jerry Capadonna, my best friend from school, I remember you lived off base...Mike Evers who lived right next door. I remember you father had a '56 Thundrbird...Bobby Anderson, who was the fastest runner on the base I think, and never got caught in Hide and Seek. The Apgar's, The LaLiberti's, and could someone put me in touch with Randy Nordlund, I have a great story for him.
I will always cherish those times, and I know that some of my main interests in life all got started during those years at Wethersfield.
It was long ago, over 40 years, unbelievable....I hope to hear from somebody who was there at the same time.
Best Wishes, Bobby Braxton
