Great site! Hope no one minds this post, but I'm looking to swap travel privileges with a QFer. Screaming good deal...see North America and surrounding environs on AirTran (www.AirTran.com) with 100% free air travel! Anyone?

I retired from Air Canada in 1993 from a variety of positions including cabin crew. Just new to E-Mail & I was browsing the web. Always looking to chat with former airline people as we are in a world of our own. IF Anyone interested send me a message. I have had the good fortune of visiting Sydney in the early 70's & loved it. Don't do too much travelling anymore due to the fact that I am again working full time.

I had not previously visited your site because being in cargo, I was not closely associated with aircrew, and so not eligable to be a member according to your criteria. So was not aware that visitors were able to view all the interesting material on your site. Re your message board 'Discuss Qantas' Royal mail posted by Rod Routledge 8/12/2004. I became the Airmail Manager in 1980 and the Royal Mail Logo used to be at the front, on the front port (left) side only of the fuselage, located below the orange stipe 'speed line'. With the change of colour scheme in having no 'speed line' its use was discontinued. I was informed that mail despatched from Australia by Australia Post, was not under royal patronage. We still carry airmail but when I retired in 1989, we envisaged a big reduction in the volume with the increased use of email. So much so that postal mail is now referred to as 'snail mail'. Not being a member, I am unable to Rod Routledge and you may care to pass this on to him. Regards, Denis Underdown
