Hello, I'm writing to ask if you'd forward this notice about Jon Glik to your fans. We'd be very grateful. Tracey Eldridge HELP BALTIMORE MUSICIAN JON GLIK RECEIVE A LIVER TRANSPLANT September 30, 2007 Baltimore’s beloved fiddler JON GLIK needs your help in his quest for a new liver. Jon is in the midst of a prolonged hospitalization for liver and kidney failure. This is his third and longest hospitalization of the year, his illness having progressed rapidly since it was first diagnosed in October 2006. Because Jon is without health insurance the cost of his medical care is astounding. He is in critical condition now, struggling to regain enough strength to undergo liver transplant without which he will die. He took a few steps today, and that’s progress. If you know Jon, you know he’s determined. About Jon: “Baltimore Jonny” has devoted his life to traditional bluegrass music and has spent most of his adult life recording and touring with the likes of David Grisman, Del McCoury, Frank Wakefield, Peter Rowan, the Forbes Family, Dave Evans, Paul Adkins, Walter Hensley, Bob and Danny Paisley, The Hard Travelers, The Good Deale Bluegrass Band with Mike Auldridge, and Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble. How you can help: A group of Jon’s Baltimore-based musician friends has started an emergency liver transplant fund to assist with Jon’s medical expenses and care. But we need your help to keep Jon alive. If you wish to make a contribution by check, please make it payable to Jon’s sister at: Barbara Glik for JON GLIK MEDICAL FUND Even if you are unable to make a donation, we encourage you to make contact with Jon. He needs your support just now. Well-wishes and donations will reach Jon at this address: Barbara Glik, P.O. Box 4005, Annapolis, MD 21403 Want to learn more about liver disease? Looking forward to the Bluestone show at the Airville firehall. It was a nice suprise to find live bluegrass shows just down the way from our new place. I have invited my folks, from the State College area, to come and join us. They love bluegrass music. With Cherryholmes Wed. night in York and Bluestone on Sat. night at the hall, we have the makings for a great first time visit for them. See ya at the hall!
