Hi Joey and mom, Just wanted to write and say hello from Carlsbad NM. My Son B.J. was also born with heart problems when he was just 2 months old the doctor discovered something wrong with his heart they flew us from Carlsbad to Albuquerque NM and there they dicovered he had coarctation of the membrane so he had his first surgery. A year later at a check up they discovered the muscle that grew in his valve to help push the blood through because of the narrowing from before. So needless to say he has had 3 open heart surgerys since then and we went to a check up on Tuesday the 14th of this month and they discovered another problem so he is looking at yet another surgery... B.J. is 9 years old. Very hard but I believe in a God of miracles and B.J. and Joey are truly miracles them selves.. Take care stay strong and I'll be praying for you all.. God Bless you always, Kim

Dear friends: Your website was inspirational to us. My son Roberto had a similar condition, detected 2 years ago. Since then monitored and finally got surgery and removal of the membrane on March 9, 2008, before his 4th birthday. He is going very good since then. We got orientation and strength thanks to your post. We live in Peru and he got open heart surgery here in the Clinica del Niņo. Surgeon was a german doctor in mission of help who was here in Peru for a week.
