I performed the Frequency Mod with no problems. One thing to watch is that there is a pad right after those two pins. If you don't cut it before that small pad (nothing in it) you will not see the frequency mod take effect. Remove some of the solder before you cut the trace. Must cut between the pins and the pad for this to work. Also did the light color mod, the easiest way to get the light to stay in place is to remove the green cover and then cut it off right in front of the gromet so you can reuse the green gromet to hold the bulb in place.
I'm trying to find information on the XTAL mod for the 2510 that should work on this radio also. Then it will work on 12 meters as well as 11 and 10. I need to know what the crystal frequency is to change the VFO on PLL.
Thanks all and 73

Thanks for all of your work. You have great stuff.
I am looking for a copy of the Realistic HTX-100 service manual in any form. Radio Shack does not have it available anymore. Their website only has the Owners Manual.

I am just starting out in HF and sure do like the looks of this radio. I just passed my general exam. I have been looking on different sites to find one of these rigs. Have any ideas of where to find one. What do I look for in one and what to watch out for? Will probably use it mobile because I can not put up an antenna in my apartment (it is in the lease). I would really like to have an ICOM IC706 for my rig but have to watch the pennies. Well thanks for the info on your page.

GREAT site! Recently acquired an HTX100, ran it through the Freq., LSB and Power modifications, works like a champ! Only 'problem' I have now, is sharpening the tone of the RX audio. Even before I modified it, it was aligned and still sounded a little muddy (too muddy for the filtering) so I'm trying to find a way to remove a little bass, enhance the mid/high response, and THEN it'll be a real workhorse.
Thanks for the information! I'll be back!

Hello. I'm JG2TZW/1 live in Saitama JAPAN.
I was interested in HTX-100 and I used search engine and found this site.
I obtained HTX-100 by auction, but do not yet arrive at hand the other day.
If it arrived, I refer to this site and intend to do MODS.
Thank you.
