Geoff, I just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoyed the music and conversation the last time I was at Salt Island. Absolutely enjoy it every time I see you. You are very talented and an excellent performer. Thanks so much for "Daytrips and Manuscripts". You have such a unique sound. Your originals reveal a quite different side of you. (As does the pic with grandmother :-). Looking forward to seeing you the next time I'm in Orlando.

Geoff, Great web site great to hear some old songs and some new ones. Sorry to see gave up playing the Village Inn for playing in Florida. I will try to teach Jay how to use a computer so he does not send the same message 20 times. Although I must say there is something funny and ironic about you playing at a fish market :) Drop me an e-mail sometime Later Joe

Hey Geoff, I realize this isn't really the right type of forum for what I'm about to write, but I currently have no other way of getting in touch with you aside from driving 190 miles to one of your shows, which Kim and I will be doing soon anyway. I learned about your father's passing about 90 minutes ago. Someone from the newspaper in Batavia sent me the news via e-mail. It was a huge shock, and I wept like a schoolgirl. I'm sure your dad would find that fact very amusing. Anyway, I'm sorry. He certainly wasn’t an old man, and he was even younger at heart. Working with your dad was an honor and an adventure. He taught me many things about journalism and people that I never would have learned without his guidance. As you know, there was no one more dedicated to work and family than your dad. Yet, he was also one of the most laidback and cool men I ever knew. He worked as hard as he played. I'm sure most of your friends were envious that he wasn't their father. I've never had more fun at work. I cherish the old copy of the Silmarillion he gave me before Kim and I moved to Florida. He said he had it for years and read it many times. I was honored and flattered that he gave it to me. It means even more to me now. It’s really nice to have something that belonged to him for so long. I took it off the shelf a few minutes ago, and I felt like he was here with me. He will be missed greatly. I spoke with your mom at about 8:45 p.m., and Kim and I will probably look her up when we come home for Christmas. If you’re in town too, maybe we can go out to dinner (our treat). I didn’t think to ask her for your contact info. I gave her our address. Kim and I have decided that before winter, we will take a weekend road trip to drive from southwest Florida to one of your shows. We really need to hear you play again. It's been too long since "Cheers", (a.k.a. "The Brass Rail" and also "Tin Pan Alley") and I'm not buying any CDs without getting them signed, so we pretty much have to be there in person, ha, ha. I have your site bookmarked, and I look at it every now and then to see the latest show locations and dates. I keep hoping your venues will creep further and further south so I don’t have to drive so far, ha, ha. I know – it’s selfish of me. The site looks great by the way. I also hear you’ve been in the studio recently. I hope the recordings are going well. We look forward to buying your next disc. Please accept our condolences. We'll see you soon.
