The Fife Arms in Braemar has confirmed that they will host our dinner on Saturday 17th August 2002. They no longer insist that we take a certain number oif rooms, as they have no accommodation available on the Friday or Sunday, but we lose the special deal.
I must leave members to make their own arrangements for accommodation.
I personally am cancelling my booking with the Invercauld Arms.

Another development on the 2002 Gathering, tonight. The Ffe Arms has some difficutly with the accommodation for the weekend. I suggest that you fdo not book any accommodation either at the Invercauld Arms or he Fife Arms until I have been able to resolve the position.

Clan Gathering 2002. The Invercauld Arms has let us down ! They are unable to host the formal dinner on Sat 17.802 nor do the outside catering at Invercauld House.
I have provisionally arranged for the Fife Arms to host the dinner and for a bed & breakfast rate of £22.50 per person per night. We have reserved 10 double rooms. If you wish to move your accommodation, please feel free to do so.

I have to report the sad news that Larry Waitt, the Clan Farquharson USA membership secretary died peacefully in his sleep on 10.12.01.
Our Clan Chief and President have sent messages of condolence to his wife Bev.
