I am trying to track down my family geneology. Stephen Dixon (me) - born 1963, Fredericton, NB John Dixon (father) - born 1941, Saint John, NB Walter Dixon (grandfather) - born 1901, Huntington, Quebec George Dixon (great grandfather - born 1846-1916, England? Georges wife - Catherine Armstrong - 1859-1923 Apparently, George arrived in Halifax from England. He was in the military, and left to settle in Canada via Halifax. Not sure where he met Catherine, assume Canada (Halifax or Huntington?). They are burried in the Protestant cemetery in Huntington. I would like to track George to England, and further if possible. I know very little about my ancestry, other than my father Laurence Joseph Dixon, b. 1 Jun 1918 in Tipperary, Ireland to George & Josephine Dixon. George was English and Josephine Irish with a Spanish mother. My father had a strong Irish identity. Most of Dad's childhood was spent in Dublin (Charlotte St) where he lived until 1940 when he joined the British Army. Dad never spoke much about his past, but he had a sister, Peggy, who settled in Hull, Yorks, and a brother Tony, who I never met, that settled in London after the war. There were other siblings too. I was born in Hillingdon, W London on 01 Jul 1956, the eldest of 5 children. I'd be interested to hear from any relations I may have, but have yet to meet. Nice website. Keep up the good work.
