My paternal grandmother was a Dixon from the Pennsylvania Quaker line of Scottish/Irish which left Ireland (having left Scotland :-) in the mid 1600's. To all Dixon's of every spelling everywhere: Suas e Dixon! Up with Dixons!

Hi Curtis and the Dixon families around the world. Nice web site and please to see that some of our distant families are saying Hello. Myself, I was born in West Yorkshire in a ambulance on the move in 1952, the day before King George VI died. My home town is Carleton Near Pontefract hwere I lived for 20 years. The Dixon history there goes back many years and I am also just starting out tracing some of my distant families. My great-grandmother was Elizabeth Dickson/Dixon b. abt 1860 in Scotland, daughter of James Dickson and Ellen Pryde. She married James Heriot in 1881 in LaSalle, Illinois.

My great grandmother was Sara Eleen Dixon. She was born 19 Dec 1879 in Missouri. She Died 19 Feb 1959 in California. She married James William Sorden. Her children were Viola 1900, Alma Armetha 1902, Edith Ellen 1904, Willian Leroy (Bud) 1907, Archie Lawrence 1909, Mary Leona, 1913, Alta 1915, Mildred Faye (my GM.)1918, Effie Lee 1920 (Died at birth) Sara's Father was Robert Stewart Dixon. This is really great. I've been looking for something like this for some time. Having a hard time finding anything past my grandfather: Troy R. Dixon, Born:September 1898, in Illinois. Died:December 31,1958.Buried: Forest Lawn Cemetry, Glendale, Los Angeles County, California. His mothers maiden name:Pierce. I have been told, he had a twin brother named,Coy, Whom I never knew. Troys son, is my father: Richard Troy Dixon, Born: April 28,1926, Los Angeles, California. Died: March 13, 1991. Buried: Forest Lawn Glendale, Los Angeles County, California. Supposedly, Troys family was originally from Kentucky. Any one knowing Troy or his family??? Thanks, Robyn
