Most of my research is from Lunenburg County and Charlotte County , Virginia.
The Clark's and Shelton's seem to marry
into each other several times.

My great grandfather was a Pulliam,
Hugh Pulliam. He had a brother
named Roy and they both lived in Fall
Branch, Tenn. all of their lives. We
know their fathers name was
Marcenia (McClellan??) Pulliam and
that he had a sister named Marthia
Pulliam who was born in 1870 and
died in 1912. We also know that they
had other brothers and sisters that
possibly moved to MIssouri in the
late 1800s early 1900s. They still
reside there and until a few years
ago continued to write my great
grandmother (Hazel "Mimi" Curtis
Pulliam). If anyone has any
information or questions please feel
free to email me. This is very
important to me and my family to find
out about our ancestors. Thank you
so much for your help

I've hit upon your site in my search for USS CAPERTON (DD650) information.
We of the ship's crew (WW II and following) have an extensive roster and have even included as courtesy members several of the family, including former Governor Caperton.
It was a surprise to read in the intro that USS CAPERTON was a "battle ship"
though she certainly was a "battling ship"!
Named for ADM Caperton and cristened by his daughter, Margaret, she was well fought and lucky through all her days, having earned ELEVEN battle stars in two wars before becoming obsolete and being expended as a target in about 1983.
We never tire of speaking of her or our times aboard.
