I would like to add to the comment of David of 04/03/2006. I admire his faith. First of all, we know the Egyptians did not record the history of the ten plagues on their people or even mention Moses. But we know this event happened because of the Bible and not secular history. I prefer to believe the Bible. A lot of secular history does not agree with the Bible, but a lot of secular history does. Many times later documents arise to support the events of the Bible. We cannot get hung up on a date and say this justifies me leaving the truth - because it doesn't. You were looking for a reason to leave anyway. The people in the Bible were not perfect and made mistakes, even Aaron and Moses. But God declared them perfect anyway because they did what he wanted them to do. Jehovah's witnesses are not perfect and neither is every interpretation or policy or direction. No person, people or organization on earth is perfect. But God's message is: His Kingdom rulership by Christ Jesus, our Lord. We must hold onto the message for it is what's perfect. We should have our share in declaring this good news of the Kingdom. We have other truths such as: God is One. It is inconceivable to think an Almighty God is three persons or had to come down to the earth and say worship me. Nor did he have to die and be humiliated, slapped and spat upon. Jesus said Worship God. He was not speaking of himself, but of his father in Heaven. These things we need to hold onto and not get hung up on this date or that date. That is why many people left in the 70's. Sure there are a some things I disagree with. Everyone is entitled to their own thought or opinion, to disagree or ask questions concerning a certain teaching, etc. or read what they want pro or con and make up their own mind as to what they want to believe be it destroy their faith or make it stronger. I don't agree with people being shunned or disfellowed for having lunch with someone. And I hope Brother Franz will one day come back or that someone will extend a hand to help him come back. I wish you all well and please continue in the faith and do not be overwhelmed by dates.
