This website is a HUGE waste of time. Dude, if you're looking for a reason not to be a JW anymore why don't you just say goodbye and leave instead of doing all this nonsense. Your research doesn't convince me of anything. Objective examination of the facts shows that a lot of the information in the secular historical record is very shaky at best, and I'm pretty certain that some of it was contrived for expediency. You are obviously more concerned about discrediting the witnesses than you are about discussing the actual issues, and it shows in your comments and letters. I'm sure you know that your letters are a redundancy. The watchtower people believe that their information is correct and they have what they believe is evidence that corroborates it. You have other pieces of information that you believe is correct, and you also have what you believe to be evidence that verifies it. The truth is that your "evidence" is no more scientific than the JW's evidence. You are relying on information that was written by human historians. How in the world can you or anyone else prove that what these historians wrote is fact? If I were a man of faith, as you claim to be, I would be more inclined to go with the biblical version of history. Surely you're smart enough to know that there's nothing at all so unusual about scientists, psychologists, and historians disagreeing with the Bible. Case in point: There is scientific evidence which suggests that evolution theory is a fact. But is it? Here's an opportunity for you to write voluminous letters to all the Chrisitian religious groups, challenging their belief in the Genesis account...

I really think you should give this up. If you no longer believe what the witnesses say to be the truth then you should leave and find your own truth. Making a spectacle of yourself with these letters and e-mails neither proves nor solves anything. There are thousands of religious groups out there, and every one of them believe something a little different from all the others. Take your pick, and do get a life.

i am 21 years old and i have been disfellowshipped for about 2 years now. i actually got into a religious debate with my devout witness parents and tried to explain to them about 587 B.C.E. i told them about ray franz, my parents actually knew him very well. my mom said he was disfellowshipped because he didnt like going out in service. (talk about not gossiping) then my dad called him an apostate, and me as well, and that was it. i was struggling to leave for a long time and it was very hard. but now i am relieved. thank you for your information.

Hello, I'm just letting the world know about the above new book "Captives of a Concept (Anatomy of an Illusion)." Here are a couple of comments from readers. Gary Busselman "Captives of a Concept" is a valuable piece of work and is needed. It brings a fresh perspective to understanding the Witness movement. The format is easy to read and deals with the question of why Jehovah’s Witnesses remain loyal to the Watchtower Society in the face of volumes of disconfirmations. It shows how the huge mistakes made by the Society over the years are not important to a Witness who embraces the concept. I wish I had something like this when I walked away in 1974 when there was a shortage of rational information. I think Don has done a great job in putting it together in a straight line.[www.freeminds.org/buss/gary.html] Internet Comment Some people do not really like reading. They are intimidated by books of more than a couple hundred pages. They just want to know how they can prove to themselves or others, in a very simple uncomplicated way, that Jehovah’s Witnesses is not the true religion. ."Captives of a Concept" is a focused approach. It concentrates on the Watchtower teaching of the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" [Matthew 24:45-47]," the doctrine upon which all others rest, and very logically and simply pulverizes it. Down comes the whole structure. -.[Michael]" There is additional information at www.CaptivesOfaConcept.com The book is available in PDF Download and Print versions. Don Cameron Author
