I'm starting a museum in an old Atlas-E missile site here in Kansas. I would love to find someone that had spent time at an Atlas-E site and would serve on the board. That would add so much to the decisions necessary to make this attraction a tribute to the men of the early missile era. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Of course, if someone were willing to share dollars to help the cause, we are always looking for a few of those too. (Couldn't be a successful not-for-profit if one didn't ask everyone they talk to. By the way I'm focused on getting a missileer board member not fund raising.) If you know of anyone that would consider being on the board, even if they do not live in the NE Kansas area, I would love to send them a letter inviting them to learn about our project and what they could do to help.
If you have any data or records concerning the Altas-E era, someone collecting that kind of data may be contacting you to see what you have. I don't know who that would be yet, but I will ask who's do that. Have a great weekend.
The site is completely empty but completely painted with the 47 ton door in working order. I think the 400 ton bay doors would work too with a little help. There are 4 main aspects to the project. We don't plan to return the site to what it looked like in 1962 so a 1/25th scale model will serve to provide that data. The remaining area will be used for a cold war museum. The third aspect is the missile displays. This will take so time to complete. And the 4th aspect of the project is the Rocketry School for 12-16 year olds. They would be on site training in the engineering aspect of rocket and missile systems including flight control. Of course there will be the education component thoughout the project, which is the main reason for the project to begin with.
I'm looking forward to talking to many of you in the near future. Have a great day.

Have any of you been to the SAC museum in Nebraska since they changed its name?
according to the talk on Yahoo.missile group.missile_talk, I understand there is no longer any reference to SAC nor anything suggesting we even existed. What a shame!

BMATS normally don't make mistakes like that, but I have to take full blame for not keeping you posted on the status of the Fairchild Heritage Museum.
It is alive and well albeit in storage. The name has changed to the Armed Forces and Aerospace Museum.
We are waiting on approval from the FAA to start putting up the building on Spokane Int Airport.
The majority of the artifacts are stored with the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, {MAC] the Large items are stored at Dave Mcintyre's home at site 4.
The AF turned over almost all ot the artifacts to the Society and now they belong to us, and will not leave the Spokane area.
The new address for correspondence and donations is
Armed Forces and Aerospace Museum
5813 E 4th Ave
Spokane, Wa. 99212-0308
Once approval comes thru for the space, arrangements will be made to move the Aircraft that still remain on the base.
The missile artifacts are all intact, and still belong to the 567th SMS Association. We will have a prominent place in the new museum.
