I was stationed at the Kuppe from October of 69 through July of 73. I was the Security Police NCO in charge of "Pass and Registration" and "Armorer.I have began work on a web-site to include the names and photos (1,000) or more of the Kuppe, Surrounding areas, and more importantly, the wonderful Men and Women, who served their country whle enduring some of the worst weather in the World!!!

ROTHWESTERN 1963-1956 had a lot of good times.
Kassel was still leveled from ww2 but we got to town and had fun
during occupation did town patrol with german police.

as a radae operator.
It was some of the best times of my life.
Hung out at the City Bar in Gersfeld to meet the freuleins.
Good food,drink,friends,times.

I was born in 1953 in Rothwesten and live there. At the end of 2007 the Fritz-Erler-Kaserne was closed. In my opinion there is no designated use for building and the entire area.
I think, the old US Military Rothwesten begins to decay! I would like search picture from the town of Rothwesten, the air base and other surroundings.

I was station at Wasserkuppe from 1966 till 67 I was one of the few Army Person there. We call the Kuppe Terminal 51 we were part of 32nd AACOM
company was in Darmstadt. I remember the place like it was last Year.
would love to get in Contact with people that were there. Oh the Air Force food was the best. The Army food was not so good.
