The site just keeps getting better and better. I hope to hear from a couple of old friends from Prum air station(1982-84) and also from FACP Al-Jubail,Saudi Arabia. While the 601st TCS occupied most of Prum air station,we also had our sister unit-611th TCF(FACP) that had their facility near the front gate. I've run into a few people who served in the 611th Flight. Lots or Yankees at Prum. Best wishes to all. Tsusse!!!

Rothwesten. My first assignment outside the U.S. I will never forget it. What great times! I was with 184th Co., 139th ASA Bn on Rothwesten (1958-1960) and had many pals in the 601st. Unfortunately, all contacts slipped away over the years and that's why I'm so pleased to have stumbled across your site, especially the photos. In fact, the Gil Matherne, 1947 photo, is of the courtyard and building where I was stationed. My room was second window from the end and I used to park the old Mercedes I bought for $75 up against the courtyard wall on the right. Regarding the other photo...I believe one of the entrances might have been the barber shop (25-cents for a flat top). Those photos bring back so many many memories it's just like I remember...getting off the last bus from Kassel and sometimes getting frisked for beer by the APs, and sometimes not. I believe I spent a time or two sitting in the lobby. Oh well.. Thanks for the memories.

We were stationed at Pruem from Apr 83 until June 89. My husband Scott, was in the Radio Relay shop. He'd like to hear from any of the guys. We have some VC tapes from several deployments. Scott's email address is kb9udf@va.prestige.net.
