I enjoyed looking at all of the entries on the blog. Only saw three names I remembered. I was station at Rothwesten from 1960 to 1963 when we moved the 601st to Sembach AB. I worked in Personnel.

I was stationed at Wasserkuppe Air Station with the 1945th Comm Squadron from 1977-1978. I was one of the last U.S troops to leave the "Koop" as it was turned over to the Germans in 1978.

I arrived at the 601st ACW, Pforzheim, in Jul/Aug '55 as a Radio Operator along with 5 others. Since no 'Radios' we became Teletype & Switchboard Operators. I remember Al Kitchen and John Reardon very well. I met my wonderful wife of 50 years, Anna Welles,(married on July 14,1956) who was a Short Order Cook at the Snackbar. Most members of the Squadron attended our wedding in Pforzheim. Looking for Erwin Betz and Lloyd C. Green, Charles Burneske,or Sword. Transfered to the 615th Pruem sometime in '57 and became detached to a DF Station near Koblenz. Rotated to the ZI in Sep.'58. I have great memories of my service along with so many great guys. Just retired 12/31/06 from my business as Intl. Freight Forwarder.

I was stationed at the Kuppe from 66 to 69. I worked in data maintance on the detector tracker and the height finder equipment. We lived on the economy and had a great time. I still remember our bowling ally, the bomb craters and a great resturant just outside the gate.
