It was a great afternoon. i was hoping to find some familar names from the 604th/616th ac&w sq 53-58...no luck,though the sqds were mentioned. for some reason,the email links dont ork for me. was hoping to reach Nick Mascis,Ben Adelman,Mike Toma,and a vet by with the last name of Emanuelle.They all seemed to know a bit about the units.I was a brat at Freising. Anyone know of TOM SCHAEFFER.(not sure of the spelling of last name).He played forward for the Freising Panthers. Also seeking Richard ang Gillian Ward,John and Ellen Fitzsimmons,Michael Simons,Danny Underhill or Underwood,Penny and Adrian Deer and Gretchen and Karen Dagenhardt.Thanks again for the site.For a brat, this time of year makes you yearn to be back in Freising. I have never has the true feeling of Christmas that I felt there as child.For me, Freising will always be home. I was at Det 1, 615th, at the Kindsbach COC from 1972 to 1974. I was noting the fact that us "cavers" never seem to be listed in any of the websites devoted to radar dets in Germany. But, as we were always used to working in the dark, I suppose it's only fitting... <grin> I was a 276xx radar op at Kindsbach, having just come from Monkey Mountain Vietnam (71-72). Currently living in West Texas

Stationed at Die Wasserkuppe May 69 -Dec 69 at Det 12A 1945 Comm Sq (Rhein-Main AB) till trfd to Det 12 l945 CS at Feldberg RRL (NW of Frankfurt) till retired in 1 Aug 72.

All of the pix and stories bring back memories. I was stationed @ Rothwesten for less than a month before being reassigned to Obernkirchen. I lived in the barracks snown on the pix where the troups are in formation. We had a radio link to Celle and I visited them many times. I was in the 2057th RRS. My next tour to Germany was to Prüm where I spent 4 years. My last tour was to Feldberg for 5 years. Great site.

My dad was Benjamin Wilkerson and was stationed at Pruem, 615-acw, from 1956-1958, during which time I was born. He passed away in 2003. Would love contact from anyone with any information about his stay there. He always spoke so highly of the friends he made and his time there. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. Bill Haley was his First Sargeant.
