Was a radar operator at Wasserkuppe in 1964. Moved to Gieblestadt in 1965. Went on to retire in 1981 after 30 years.

Found your site while browsing. I was the Operations Officer of the 616 ACWS from 1977 to 1979. The old photos are fascinating. Nothing much has changed on the Koop since I was there. A lot more trees. I wonder if it still looks like a birthday cake when the lights are on in the wintertime? Nice site.

I was assigned to gunpost from 1946 to 1948. Lived in the old school in Simmerhausen. Had a lot of fun. Married a local girl. Lost her six years ago to cancer. Anyone out there I know?
