I was stationed at Pruem from 78-80, I worked in Radar Ops. Great memories ! Got some pictures of deployments and stuff, I'm scanning them into my PC as .bmp's, and maybe when I get them all scanned in, I could burn them onto a "CD" and mail them to the web-master. Stationed on the Kuppe from 57 to 60. Worked Inside wire with Frank Lichota (Lick)later Willie Balm, Capt. Looney. Had the trailer between the powerhouse and the Operations building (Dark Room) Sgt's Thomas and Meinberg arrived later. Remember Sgt Rucker, Donald Decker, Shields from the Army, Tricarico and Sgt Copeland, also Army. The girls in the snackbar I use to drive home every night(Gersfeld-Wustensachsen) Also worked mailroom part-time. Had some great times there. Hope to hear from someone who might remember me. Sgt Cusick was the last first Sgt that I remember. Joseph Perry sounds familiar, were you from Mass? Lick and Sgt Ambrose worked the dark room, and had tons of pictures from all over, but they're both deceased now Was in touch with Sgt Meinberg, but have lost touch with him.Remember taking flights with controllers who had flight status, It was a C-47, but we got to see a lot of Europe.

Great Site! My Dad (Bill Slamin) was stationed at Rothwesten in the late 50s where he married a German. I went back to Kassel with my mom and stayed there from 1965-1976 attending the American schools in Kassel (John F. Kennedy Elementary in Harleshausen). If anybody had dependents going that school during that same time frame, I would love to hear from them. ph. 407-443-2170. I still have family in Kassel and I visit at least once a year. I talk to a lot of the older locals there who remember the "GIs" and they all say the same thing. "Once the Americans left Kassel, this place became boring!"

Just returned from another trip to Germany. All is well and the beer still flows. Had a nice visit and lunch with Charles and Heidi Russel at the Roter Kater on Tuesday July 15. Heidi owns the Pflging Gasthaus in Immenhausen and Charles retired from the Army. He was with the 319th in 1960-62 at Rothwestern.Hope to see some freinds in Biloxi in October. -Bill Marts-
