I was stationed in the U.S. Constabulary in Rothwesten during the Occupation of Germany in 1946-47. Next I was sent to the Fritzlar Caserne where I stayed from 1947-49. I was in communication. Many great memories. Thanks, Gil.

My tour was Oct '50 thru Oct '53. Had a great time with a bunch of wonderful people. I was a radar operator, spending lots of time on the DF board, and the scope, giving centerline checks to aircraft to and from Berlin. Made many trips to Paris with my best friend, Chuck Kuespert. Would not have traded that three years for anything.

It's good to see the guest book back in
operation. I served with the 601st as a
radar operator at ROTHWESTEN (Bravo
Crew) 1957 to '58 and roomed with Kenny
"Kilo" King. When the radar operations
relocated to OL #1, WASSERKUPPE in the
Spring of '58, most of us reluctantly
transferred with it. I served at "the
Kuppe" until July 1960. It was there I
learned to ski by the "crash & burn"
method. I married the prettiest girl in
Kassel and we celebrated our 40th
anniversary in May. Instead of making
the A.F. a career, I spent the next 31
years in law enforcement retiring from
the Portland, Oregon P. D. in 1991.
We have been involved with the 601st
Association for several years and
thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie of our
membership. We always enjoy exchanging
e-mail, calls and visits with old and
new 601st friends.

I arrived at Rothwestern in 52-55 Wasassigned to Comm, worked On the hill pulling strings till my clearance came thru and went to work in Crypto and was a sort of a sport's jock even if I wasn't the best. Went on as many trips thru Special Service as I could to see the country. Stayed in 26 years and am now living in Florida. Had 3 boys and 1 daughter and was lucky enough to get them all married off. Wife and I hope to see as many of you as possible this Sept.
