I was stationed briefly on Wassercuppe during the winter of 1950/51.There was a small RAF detachment of about 30 personnel manning a Gee radar installation. At that time there was only a small unit of USAF technicians, who were operating a radio location unit for US aircraft in the Kassel area. When I left the site in January 1951 to go to the British Zone, we had to be taken out by snowcat because the snow was so deep!!

I was in the 604th det 2 at
Landshut,Germany. Question is:
Around the
year 1956, 604th went to France TDY
for two months and another Acwron
unit
came down to fill in while the 604th
was gone.I and four others were left
behind to operate the radio van, Can
you tell me if it was the 601th or the
615th that took over in that time. Or
do you know the outfit that did?
Thank You
Bob Madey 604th Det#2
