I was up at the Kupe for a week at at a time from th 14th Cav. in fulda on radio duty. spent several weeks in my 2 yrs. in Germany up there. might mention that there were some pretty good Poker players in the Air Force up there

Was stationed at Det. 100, Celle, as a ground radio operater, 1965 and 66. My NCOIC was Sgt. Ernie Hawes. I was best man at my buddy Ken Martins wedding. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please contact me.

I was stationed briefly on Wassercuppe during the winter of 1950/51.There was a small RAF detachment of about 30 personnel manning a Gee radar installation. At that time there was only a small unit of USAF technicians, who were operating a radio location unit for US aircraft in the Kassel area. When I left the site in January 1951 to go to the British Zone, we had to be taken out by snowcat because the snow was so deep!!

I retired from the Air Force Feb 1965after 25 1/2 years. I was in the 601st from 1947 thtu earl 1949. I was Asst Comm Officer & Asst Radar Maint Officer. I was a Duty controller at Gunpost through a lot of the Airlift

I was commander of the 601 TCS then 601 ACS when the guidon moved from Zweibrucken to Alzey, 1990-1992. Great unit, great people and fond memories.

I was stationed at Pruem (612th TCF) from Dec 79 - Dec 81 and then transferred to the 621st TCF at Wiesbaden. Great to see this history.

I was in the 604th det 2 at Landshut,Germany. Question is: Around the year 1956, 604th went to France TDY for two months and another Acwron unit came down to fill in while the 604th was gone.I and four others were left behind to operate the radio van, Can you tell me if it was the 601th or the 615th that took over in that time.
