I was assigned to the 615th, Pruem Germany in early 1958, as one of the ECM Ground Operators, stationed just down the access road going to Pruem. We were nearly behind the backsrop of the Baseball field. Major Daniel Glowa wa our OIC at the time. The van we worked out of was known as 'Big Mamma" and if you visit www.parkwood.homestead.com/militaryassignments.html you'll see why. I have a couple more pictures arounfd here but can't find them, showing the van at a distance with the two huge and two small radomes atop it. I Have listed all the names of those assigned to the ECM Van on the page cited, but have been unable to reach find a single one today.

My name is William Malthaner, Jr., my father William, Sr., stationed in Pruem for the 601st/615th AC&W from 1957 to 1960. I believe he was a radio operator. I think he would be interested in hearing from some of his Air Force buddies. A few of the names that he has mentioned are Capt. Cahn, Lt. Hansbecker, Sgt. Rainey, Sgt. Fick, Col. Kirsch, Joe Trim & others, which I can't recall (spellings may not be that correct). Think dad drove a Powder blue Crown Victoria at the time.
I hope this rings a bell and you might be able put me in touch with some of his buddies.

Hi there!
Since this terrible desaster happened to your country last week, I am surfing thru the net in memories of my Duty within the German Airforce. In those days I was one of only 5 germans who were working for the Programming Center Birkenfeld on TDY on the Wasserkuppe.
I just want to show you my deepest sympathy with all the people of your country and I do hope that we will win this war and may God bless us all.
