My son was born 28 weeks 2 days at 2 lb 13 oz, 15 inches tall. He looked frail, but was a true fighter. We kangarooed everyday as much as 9 hours a day. He stayed in the NICU for 57 days. Those were the hardest days of my life. Now, my son is 8 1/2 months old, 18 lb 2 oz, and 27 3/4 inches tall. He is an exclusive breast feeder. He's scooting all over the place and loves pulling on me to stand. He is very social too. I thank God everyday for this miracle.

My little baby girl Tehya was born in Hamilton Ontario at 28 weeks old. She weighed 3lbs and 12 oz. We spent 50 days in the NICU. It was a rough road but we made it with lots of LOVE! To all new Mom's out there spend time doing kangaroo care every day! It really does make a difference in your babys health and happiness! Hang in there you will take your baby home eventually!

Julia was born at 2 pounds 6 1/2 ounces. I didn't know she was to be born until 3 days before her birth at 27 weeks gestation. It was so scary seeing her in the N.I.C.U. where she spent 70 days. Each day was a series of ups and downs. She would stop breathing regularly and although the nurses were used to this I was terrified. I prayed and prayed but felt she was going to die. I was afraid to pray for her to live because of more suffering for a lifetime. Thankfully God heard and answered all those confused prayers and we have a little, delightful one year old grand daughter who smiles readily and explores everything. Thank you Lord Jesus for the miracle you allowed us to see, our Julia Elizabeth.

Hi, I was looking at sites on Premature babies and came across this one. I just wanted to write and tell anyone who has had a preemie to not give up and stay strong. I was born on August 14, 1985,4 months early and weighed 1lb.5oz. and I was 13 inches long. I stayed in the Hospital for 125 days in the NICU in an incubator. I have very few major problems which is amazing considering how early I was.I am now 19 years old and a sophmore in college. I was never expected to make it this far. I have passed everyones expectations. If anyone would like to ask me any questions or hear more about my story feel free to e-mail me. I would love to hear from you.

My son Chace Henry Kersey was born at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Octover 22, 2004. He was born 26 weeks early weighing 26 pounds. We just began our long road. Thanks to this website and the links I am learning more about my son. I am sorry to see so many other people that had to endure the pains and long days of this ordeal and also happy and relived to see that I am not alone. I am seperated from my husband and having to go this alone. But I have the best support system my family and friends.
