This is a great site! My son Joel was born 8 weeks early on April 18th, 2004. He spent only 12 days in the NICU, but those were the longest 12 days of my life!!! He really surprised them at the hospital by how fast he improved... with his eating and weaning from the CPAP and oxygen. He is home and doing so well! He is healthy and gaining weight! He weighed 4 pounds 7 ounces at birth and he is now over 6 pounds!!! I think we will be able to wear 0-3 month clothes before we know it! It is still hard for me to believe that he is STILL supossed to be in me! I feel SO proud with how well he has done!

Hi. I had identical twin boys on
March 9, 2004 @ 31 weeks 6 days
gestation. They are 10 weeks old
now and home. It was
over-whelming having them early,
however they were healthy, which
was a blessing. It is very stressful
having 2 premature babies. It's alittle
wearing on my marriage also. We
have no time for ourselves, let alone,
for eachother. All I can do
sometimes is just cry. I love my boys
and my husband, it's just hard.

This site is awesome. My son was born December 13, 2003 seven weeks early. He weighed 4 pounds, 9.8 ounces and was 17 3/4 inches. He got to come home Christmas Day. He spent one night in NICU and the rest in Special Care Unit. Since the day he was born we've been in and out of the hospital the first three months of his life. Three of those times he's been life flighted for a children's hospital. They've diagnosed him with RSV and he has a belly hernia. At the age of 5 months he's developely ahead by a month. He's my miracle.

Hi , I Liked Reading Everything on this site. you know, i was born in '89 and in Winter Haven they didnt even think about giving birth to a premature baby. I Was 27 weeks old as my mother has told me, and she was diagnosed with Toximia if it wasnt for the doctors and everything in Shans Hospital in Gainsville we wouldnt be here. i was 1 lb and 9 oz's i'm very thankful now! i really thank God alot now. i'm 14 turning 15 in October and i'm really healthy so if you ever doubt it that oyur baby wont make it dont worry! he/she will.. i did and i'm as healty as a regular child even though i spent 3 & 1/2 months in the incubator and things and then had to be on a heart monitor forever! but yes, as my mother says, i'm a beatiful young girl and i can tell you this, dont give up hope for your baby. and the best of wishes good luck with them!

My daughter is now 24 years old. She was born in 1980 when I was 26 weeks pregnant. She weigh 1 pound 13 ounces. She is miracle thanks to Dr. Constance Gairman, who died a year later in a helicopter crash (1981) taking a premature baby to the hospital. I wish she could live and see my daughter who had very few possibilities to survive and thanks to her and all the hospital staff has been with me . She is about to graduate from college now. Doctors believed she would be mentally retarded and has a memory I wish I could have...She is a beautiful girl, with a wonderful heart... premmies must be especial babies...
