My husband and I gave birth to our son BLAKE at thirty-two weeks gestational age. Blake was diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary Displaysia, Hydrocephalus and Hydroneuphrosis. This has been a very trying time for us and weve really come to cherish any knowledge or infomation that we come across. Thank-you for providing us with more precious information about our little boy's illness. -The Millers

I'm the proud parent of twin girls born at 25 weeks. Hanna weighed in at 1lb 12oz, and Rachel weighed in at 1lb 11oz. Both girls were 12 inches long. We spent 12 weeks in the NICU, coming home 2 weeks before our due date! The girls just celebrated their third birthday in February and are remarkably healthy and living life to the fullest! Hanna has some residual health issues (BPD), and Rachel has some language delays, but nothing our family can't handle. We are so thankful to the good Lord for sending us our two angels!

My daughter Maryn was born 10/6/96 at 29 weeks gestation. She was quite the fighter from the beginning, in fact, it still amazes me how strong she was and still is. She was 2 lbs 12 1/2 oz at 15 1/4 inches long. She was on vent for only 4 days and the billi lights for a couple. We were told that she wouldn't go home until the time around her original due date of late December; however, she wasn't having that and came home on November 13th with no monitors or leads!?! If I have any advice for anyone is to be proactive. I accepted any and all help regarding her health and development, but I never let anyone forget that I know her better emotionally as well as physically. That means a lot! At 6 months old no one would have guessed she was a preemie and now she is 7 years old and is 4 1/2 feet tall. She does wear glasses and probably will for the rest of her life, but the other than that the only residual effect we're dealing with is learning disabilities. She was recently diagnosed at gifted with AD/HD and Non-Verbal Learning Disorder. She receives counseling and just started taking Straterra. I know there are many parents out there with preemies or disabled children of some kind and they're TIRED; however, I just keep remembering how much strength and perserverance my daughter has shown in just the tender 7 years she has been alive. I am constantly in awe of her and her accomplishments. I'm sure you feel the same of your child too....:-)

Hi my name is Arnell and I am the proud parent of a "26 weeker", Dominik Karols Caro weighed in at 1lb 14ozs, 13 inches long. He was the littlest baby I has ever seen in my life he seemed so helpless. We had to stay in the NICU for a total of 83 days, and we had our ups and downs but it all ended well when we got to bring our little bundle of joy home on 11/7/03 at 5lbs 3ozs 16inches long. With all our hope and faith and praying Dominik has no medical problems whatsoever, he is as healthy as can be now 7 and a half months old he weighs 12 lbs 3ozs, we couldnt be happier.
