I BELONG TO THE "BUSY BEES" CLUB. WE CROCHET AND KNIT THINGS FOR THE BABIES AT THE WOMEN'S HOSPITAL. I ESPECIALLY LIKE TO MAKE THINGS FOR THE PREEMIES SINCE MY GREAT-GRANDSON WAS A PREEMIE. HE IS DOING GREAT AND I AM SO THANKFUL.
THANK YOU FOR THE FREE PATTERNS.

My Daughter Alexis Liberty was born on December 26th at 35 weeks with a Hypo Plastic Right Ventricle. Weighing 5 lbs 1 oz and at less than 36 hours old she had her 1st of 3 open heart surguries! At 3 Months old she endured her second open heart sugery! Today she is less than a month away from being a happy and heathly One Year Old! She now weighs 20 amazing pounds! )She sure didn't end up with any of the eating problems most Cardiac babies and up with!:) She has one more surgery when she is three! It scaries me like only a mother could understand! But I am confident she will make it through as well as she did the first two!

I was born in New Mexico, USA in 1952 just 2 weeks after that hospital received the 1st isolete incubator in the state. I am intrested in problems with underdeveloped or weak cartilage .
I have chronic pain in the teeth on my left side. Lots of problems in the dental chair. Type >bernie + mercury into google . That's something! I had all those fillings taken out in 1982 .My blood sugar levelled out. I have a 120 IQ but i test 8% on math! I fell of the wagon at "busy beavers" in 3rd grade! I have a 99% vocabulary but I cannot do math at all! I just need some math credits to finish 2 degrees! So even at 51 I am still stuggleing to catch up.
When I went to karate' it felt like my joints were flying apart so I quit even though i was in the DOJO 9 hours aweek . Just on an intuitive hunch, I just quit one day!. I also did gymnastics, water skiing( really a baaad idea!) and rope climbing and 30 years of belly dance. All of that was doing damage to my joints and I did not realise it! So now I am takeing glucosamine for degenerative joint disease . I take vitimin E and a full comlement of supplements and I have the joint pain under control.
I would like to talk to an MD or any other preemie whose intrested in this weak cartilage problem.
I have had every retinal surgery known to man...er woman and I thank all the brilliant surgeons who saved my vision.
Listen! whatever your limitations are just keep working and learning . Take good care of your nutrition and health and keep that stress down! I read Adelle Davis at 19 and I am now more healthy than many of my contemporaries who were born with no problems. So make health a #1 priority, it will pay off for you when you are my age, 50 .

After trying to conceive for 10 years, we got pregnant after 1 cycle of IVF. However at 28 weeks, I developed high
blood pressure, preeclampsia and HELLP
syndrome. I had an emergency c-section on 10-9-03 and delivered a 1 lb 13 oz. baby girl whom we named Savannah. She is still in a NICU and doing well at this time. She now weighs 3 lbs and 2 oz. She sure is a little fighter and has surprised the doctors on well she has done. We expect her home in time for Christmas. She is truly a miracle.
