My little girl was born 35 weeks gestation with absolutely no warning. I woke up with a mild back ache and had some moderate pain for a couple of hours. I went to the hospital just to be on the safe side, and Jo-Elle was born 55 minutes later. She had no problems when born at 4lbs 8 ounces, but lost down to 3 pounds 15 ounces and became jaundiced. She spent 10 days in the isolette and under bili lights before we got to come home. She is now 6 months old and doing great. She hasn't even had a cold. She starts physical therapy this week to strengthen her upper body. She is a little behind her corrected age in some physical development, but all else is fine. She came early, but is still perfect.

My husband and I had our first child, Jordan Lamar, at 32weeks gestation due to my uncontrollable hypertention. He weighed 2lbs 8 1/2oz and was 15" long. The doctors told us he was the size of a 29 week old baby and that the hypertention was stunting his growth. I was hospitalized the day after New Years and delivered by emergency c-section three days later. I was so afraid of what could happen, but by God's grace Jordan came out kicking and screaming. He did not need any ventilation, but he was really small. He spent 30 days in NICU and came home at 4lbs 1.6oz and 17" long. Jordan is a strong little boy and at 6weeks old can turn over. I truely thank God every day for our miracle child. As I read some of the other entries I now know just how blessed we really are. My prayers go out to all of you. Remember miracles do happen every day.

I have read alot of the stories and I have enjoyed everyone of them. I too love hearing little ones doing so well. I guess my story is a little like everyone elses. I had gone into the hospital when my baby was just 26 weeks gestaion. They held off the contractions for an amazing 3 whole weeks with mag and complete bedrest. My daughter was delivered at 29 weeks. She weighed in at 1lb. 15 oz.and 13 3/4 inches. She was so tiny. She was breathing on her own. And there was no problems accept that she was so small. She had to stay in the hospital for 7 weeks and we finally got to bring her home!! We were so exited! She now weighs 20lbs 4 oz. at the age of 20 months and is doing great. She can talk very well, and it is amazing how fast she catches on to things. She loves to dance, sing, and loves playing with other chilren. She isthe light of my life and I thank God everyday for this little mirical.

I don't even know where to start about my 19 month old daughter. She amazes me everyday with a new word or how it seems the older that she gets the quicker it seems for her to catch on to everything that we are teaching her.

I am mom to a 24 weeker born Dec 2001 weighing 1lb,5oz. Today she is 17lb+ and improving everyday. Still not sitting on her own but I can see improvement in her strength each day. Still have to just take it one day at a time.
