My son was born at 28 wks on January22,2002.He wasin the NICU in Vanderbuilt for 3mos.We almost lost him twice and they had to bring him back to life.But he is9mos old and doing fine

My son Cameron was born on April 14,2001. Cameron was due June 16,2001. He weighed 3lbs 2ozs. He came out breathing and fighting on his own. He stayed in NICU exactly 5 weeks.He just started to walk at 17 months. At first I was a little concerned but now I can't keep up with him.......:)I kept a picture in the incubator with Cameron of
his "Big Brother Jalen" who is 4 yrs old. I really think the bond started then because now Cameron Wants to do everything that Jalen is doing. He can say JALEN but he won't say Mommy.(Maybe I should have put my picture there...:))

HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! MY DAUGHTER AT 27 WEEKS WAS ONLY ABOUT 3 LBS. AND HER HEAD WAS IN THE BIRTH CANAL. SHE THEN DECIDED TO COME AT 36 1/2 WEEKS. SHE WAS 4LBS. 13OZ AND 19INCHES LONG. I WAS SO UPSET AND SCARED CUZ I THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS GOING TO NEVER COME HOME WITH ME. I THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL. I AM JUST SO HAPPY THAT SHE CAME HOME WITH ME. SHE IS NOW 9LBS. 15OZ. AND 23 1/4 INCHES LONG. SHE IS DOING REALLY WELL AND SHE IS NOW 14 WEEKS OLD. SHE GAINED 5 LBS. IN 3 MONTHS. SHE'S IN THE 75PERCENTILE FOR HEIGHT AND THE 25PERCENTILE FOR WEIGHT. I WISH I HAD A PICTURE OF HER BUT I DON'T. GOTTA RUN

I can relate to all of you who have preemies. I think it is amazing what they can do these days. My son was bron at 23 6/7 weeks and was 1# 9.6 oz.
Today he is almost 16 months and almost walking. He is 25#'s and 31 inches long. I am so proud of everything he has and been through he is a fighter!!!

Audrey and Zoey came into the world at 28 weeks and 3 days. They are such miracles because I conceived them as part of triplets resulted from in vitro process.
I remember those early weeks of fear and sadness because they were in the hospital for 8 weeks. Audrey was 2#7oz and Zoey at 2#13oz. Pretty big for twins at 28 weeks. Audrey was never on the ventilator and Zoey was for 3 days. But then there were the infections and transfusions and IVH and PDAs. All of which overwhelmed me.
But all that's over now. They are prefectly healthy and active girls at nearly 6 mos, with Audrey at 16# and Zoey at 14#. I had to wait 4 months for them to smile and the first time it happened I weeped.
Everyday I count my blessings.

Angel was born at 26 weeks gestation after her mum having PIH, HELLP Syndrome and DIC. She was 1lb 3oz at birth and is now 1 year old weighing 12lb. She stopped growing before she was born so she will remain small but she survived NICU and her first year without any major illnesses. She is very alert, active and has taken her first steps already!! I feel very lucky and thankful for the courage of my daughter and now believe in miracles!

My son was born 13 weeks early on Jan 10th 2002 due to PIH. We tried for over a year to even get pregnant! He weighed 1 lb 8 oz and was 13.25 in long. He is now 8 months, going on 16 lbs and 25 in long! HAVE FAITH IN GOD! BELIEVE and ye shall receive! We named our son, Nathaniel and his name means "A gift from God!" Miracles happen everyday!
