We just finished our Kindergarten year with our son Joseph, age 6,(27 weeks 1 lb 14 oz). He was in a regular Kindergaten class with a teacher who was willing to work and learn about Joseph! Joseph just graduated and received the Most Outstanding Art Student out of 304 Kindgartener's graduating! Being an educator myself my son's school year was hetic, trying and now triumphious! I am so proud of him.

Our son Bradley was born Jan. 19, 2002 at 26 weeks. He weighed 1 lb 15 oz. He is doing great so far. He spent 2 months in the NICU and we had a few trips back since then but is growing fast. He is now over 10 lbs. We are still dealing with some Apnea but it could be worse. The doctors were so surprised at his progress, especially because the odds of either one of us living were very slim. They only had him on the resperator for 3 days and on C-PAP for a few weeks. He is now off of all Oxygen and just on the monitor. Many Prayers were answered for us. We thank God every day we have with him.

I am so happy that I have found your site. My son Hamish, was born at 26 weeks and weighed 985gm's at his lowest recorded weight. He was born with lots of problems but he is now 5 yrs old and going strong with nothing more than asthma for us to contend with. But there is always the fear of him developing something else! Thank you for starting this site. I feel like I am not alone anymore.

My daughter Aneesa was born at 24 weeks she is doing well. She had PDA surgery but took it very well. We have a long road ahead of us but hopefully she will pull through. She has no bleeds and is tolerating her feeds well.So far no infections and no serious problems she has had some Apnea and Bradycardia but not to bad. She only weighs 1lb6oz but is gaining everyday. She is a beautiful little girl and hopefully she will stay that way.

Our daughter Camryn Alexis was born at 26 weeeks at 1lb 13.5oz on Oct. 27, 1999. Unlike most moms of preemies, there was no understood medical reason for her premature labor. In my opinion, I just think she wanted out. She was described as "vigorous" and "feisty" during her 108 days in the NICU and PCN. She did not have any of the severe problems that most micro-preemies have. She had no IVH,ROP,RSV,CP, or hearing problems. No surgeries and only minimal Chronic Lung Disease (from ventilator). Camryn had breast milk for the first 8 months of her life and I consider this her lifesaver. She is now 2 and is extremely intelligent for her age, our only worry was that she learned to walk slowly but she followed her own schedule just as always...our faith in God and lots of prayer will continue to see us through.
