I have a preemie that was born at 32 weeks. He is now going to be 2 in January. I have been really wanting to share my story with others. Julian is doing well now, after the apneas and breathing episodes, I gets frustrating. when he gets upset or mad, or he falls, he looses his breath and starts to turn blue, so me and my husband try not to upset him in any way. he had an episode about a month ago. My neibors daughter came over to play with him(she's 14) and tried to put lotion on his face and he got so upset,he lost his breath and scared my husband and I. I still think he has some minor breathing problems. I don't talk much about it with my husband, but I still have a feeling of guilt, although I tried doing everything right, I think because I waited until I was 38 to have a baby??

My 3rd child was born at 25weeks gestation and weighed 15 ounces, 12 inches long. She had the whole deal, bilateral stage II IVH, BPD, sugical NEC, ROP, several surgeries for central lines, liver failure. She is going to be 3 next week and I am amazed other then not speaking well she is thriving. I got a shock to learn on Friday she has a problem with one of her eyes that will require surgery. She recieves ST, PT, OT , and ET. She amazes me everyday, I just wish someone could tell somethings to expect for her future!

My son Colin Jeremy was born 10/10/10 (
:) ) at 28 weeks and 6 days gestation.
He had a breathing tube for less than 24
hours and has not needed oxygen since
getting the breathing tube out. They
are saying he will be in the hospital
for at least 8 weeks. I have not had a
chance to even meet him outside of the
three seconds I saw him after they took
him out (c section) because he was moved
to a bigger hospital and I am still in
our original hospital. Can not wait to
see him and can not wait for him to come
home!

I had my son at 30 weeks and six days. He was born at the end of June and stayed in the NICU till the end of July. I was in the hospital with him EVERY SINGLE DAY until he was well enough to come home. He was originally supposed to come home earlier in July but had an apnea episode which made his stay longer (just to be on the safe side). He is now 15 months old and healthy although a little on the small side. His pediatrician says it may take a while for him to catch up with other babies his age. I am just happy that he is healthy and developing well at his own pace!
