I am 20 years old and I had Preeclampsia at week 33. I gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy and about hald of that was water weight. I had severe high blood pressure and high protein in my urine. On February 14, 2009, my doctor came in my hospital room where I have been staying since the 5th of the month and said it was time for an emergancy c-section. I was killing my daughter slowly in the womb. She needed to get out of there as soon as possible. At 5:30, it was show time. The operation went wonderfully. She was born at 5:45, weighing 4 lb and 12 ozs. They rushed her to the NICU and hooked her up to monitors and a CPap to help her breathe. She was scared to death. I didn't get to see my daughter until the next day. They had removed the CPap and she was breathing on her own at the point. She was very swollen and red. The next day, the graduated her into the nursery across the way. She was still hooked up to monitors and having to eat through a tube. On Tuesday, She is starting to eat trough a bottle as much as she can then tube feeding the rest. She now weighs 4 lbs and 7 ozs. Wednesday, she is doing much better. She is still having to tube feed some of her feedings and she is now in an incubater. Thursday, she is getting better with the feedings but still needs help with the tube every now and then. Friday, she is out of the incubater! She still gets cold but we just put more layers of clothing on her. Her feedings are getting better and better. Saturday, Her monitors come off! She just has the tube in her nose at this point! She is a trooper!!! She weighs 4 lbs and 10 oz! Sunday, the best day of my life!! She gets to come home!! She is eating every one of her feedings by bottle, weighs 4 lbs and 11 oz, her skin is getting better! She is at home now...getting stronger and stronger every day! She is my little fighter and my hero!! Marley Ray Burroughs!

My daughter Lindsi was born February 23,2007 at 23 weeks she weighed 1lb 4oz today she is doing great she is 21lbs she just amazes me everyday.

My preemie just turned 1! She was born at 34 weeks due to my having preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. She was 3 lbs 8 oz and 16.5 inches. She had some preemie issues but is now fine except for some minor feeding problems. I am thankful every day that we both made it despite a rough road in the beginning.

I am pregnant and want to know if anyone has had any luck with skin care for stopping stretchmarks? I have heard that some are not safe to use and can harm my baby but I am so confused by which ones are ok and actually work to prevent stretchmarks, as I happily grow into my 9 month bump!
