My daughter (first born) was born at 29 weeks, due to being diagnosed with pre-clampsia. I was admitted into the hospital on a tuesday and three days later, friday morning @ 1:10am, my daughter was born, via c-section. Not only was it a huge shock that within three days I had my brought my baby girl into this world, but seeing her so tiny and hooked up to tons of different thigns was horrible. My daughter weighed 2lbs 2ounches and was 14 1/2 inches long.
She has been in the NICU for 28 days now and still has a good month to go...
I am excited to say that she is doing wonderfully!! :)
She is the lil super star/show off of the NICU!
She is now at 2lbs 15ounces and is nippling ALL of her feedings, which means.... NO MORE FEEDING TUBE!! She does not have an IV and only has the heart monitors attached to her. These are all such GREAT accomplishments for both me and dad :) My princess is at a great hospital with great nurses and doctors, thanks to them and GOD, who has kept her in His loving and powerful hands, she is making great strides to coming home soon :)

My 28 weeker, 1lb 10oz, little baby boy started 1st grade today. I would hold him in the NICU and think about this day. And today was it. He is healthy, he is smart, his is perfect. Thank you God for answering my prayers.

Hi , My name is Laurie and I was a Preemie Baby 44 years ago in a tiny town called Woonsocket, Rhode Island. I was born 3 months early and whne I was born I weighted in at a tiny 1 lb 8 oz. and as my Dad put it I looked like a little blue baby monkey and fit in the palm of his hand with plenty to spare. All I wish to say here right now is Have faith If you are a Preemie Parent and Believe in God or what ever faith you have . keep the faith because look at me I made it 44 years and I believe I was put here for a reason, just remember, hope and Faith go hand in hand .

My son was born at 31weeks, he weighed 2lbs 10.4 oz. I had pre-clampsia with him. On 8/8/08 i thought that i was having indigestion and or chest pain. I called the drs they told me to go to the ER. While i was there, my blood pressure was getting out of control. I was scared out of my mine i didnt know what was gonna happen. The doctors told me to call my husband and tell him to come as soon as possible. I call him and he was there 35minutes later. I was given magnessium, and also a few shots in my back side so that we could develop my sons lungs a little quicker. He was born on 8/10/08. I didnt get to see him for 24hrs after he was born. The hardest 24hrs that i have ever had. the first time that i was him I broke down in tear, he was on a CPAP machine and he had IV's and a NG-tube. He just looked so helpless laying there in his isolette. I have taken pictures of him day by day and he has grown so very much. As of today, he weighs 3lbs. 3.9oz, still in the NICU, and we have NO IV's, No Feeding tubes, only the monitors. This week he has been given the bottle and he loves it. He now takes the bottle as often as he wants he and he loves it.
I just had to tell everyone that he is my angel. He is the most precious little boy in the world. and he has been just totally amazing in these past few weeks.
Please anyone who wants to talk about there story or share there story email me and we can talk. I strongly believe that NICU parents have to stick together.
