Ryan was born 4/2/2007 he was 7 weeks early and we were so scared, however he is doing well at home today and is 4 months old, he is a happy baby loves to goo and smile, Ryan spent 14 days in the NICU here in MD and thank God for the great doctors and nurses, he weighted 4lb 15oz and was 18" long. Ryan had some problems with breathing at first but they did not last to long, he had more of a problem with learing how to eat. the suck swallow and breath. We look forward to watching everyday with him and all the things that he is learning to do

My preemie baby Aubrey was born at 25 wks and 4 days. I had severe toxemia / pre-clampsia which ended with an emergency c-section early in the game. Aubrey was born weighing 565 grams or 1 pound 4 ounces. She was in the NICU for 4 months and battled through PDA ligation, 2 separate staph infections in her blood stream, and ROP surgery. She was released at 4.5 pounds and has been perfectly healthy ever since! She is 7 months old now (4 mo. adjusted) and is up to a whopping 8.5 pounds!
Aubrey never stopped fighting no matter much she went through; her knickname is "ROCKY"!
She is our pride and joy.

Hello All,
I have had 4 premature babies all have survived and are doing well. The 4th one is in the hospital right now. He was born at 26 weeks. I went into labor at 24 weeks, I was put on bed rest, and given so many drugs it was unreal. I am so thankfull for the steriods I was given. My son MAX was born July 2,2007 at 770grams which is 1LB 6oZ, it is now July 30th, he is doing very good. We did just find out that he had bi lateral hernias, which my other 9 year old son also had. We do have a miracle that my husband and I prayed and thanked god for. Max was 1 day old and they took him off the ventilator, he has been breathing on his own since. All four of my children where off the ventilator within 2 days. We are so blessed. There is one very hard thing. My husband is Air Force, thank god he hasn't been deployed but we live in Germany, and I had to see a German Gyno and Max is also in a German hospital, the same hospital that his 18 month old sister was in she was born at 27 weeks, and came home after only staying 1 month and 3weeks in the NICU, she was big at birth 2LBS 6OZ. So we hope Max does as well as the rest of them. But dealing with a hospital where no one speaks english, only the doctors, and theres isn't that great either. I have no clue what they are saying to me or my husband. I'm afraid to ask questions. I have been able to hold Max, yet I would like to change his diaper, and see if I can dress him sometime soon. There are so many questions I have that have gone unanswered. But I have never seen such a great staff of nurses and doctors, they do anything and everything for these babies. Since this is our second one in the same NICU, we do know most of the Nurses, and they where given a heads up a few weeks before MAX was born, so they new we where coming. They saved my daughter JOrja Jean, and I have all the faith in the world that they will do there best to make sure that MAX continues to grow and become a strong baby, toddler, and child. We will let all know how things work out with MAX. Thank you
Carrie Carleton
