I had my baby last year June 11 2007, he was 27 weeks 2 pounds. At first he was ok but then he got sick. He had all illness that a premature baby can have, you name he got it. He was in the hospital for 3 long months, there was time that I thought that he was not going to make it. The only thing I could do for him was to put him inside my shirt and hold him there for hours so he will feel like he was back in the womb, and the most important thing I did for him was prayed and read my bible I still do that all the time. I thanks God for everyday he is in my life and just having him in my life make me a better person. I named my baby, Angel Gabriel because he is an Angel. He just turned 1 years old and he is so smart he is almost walking and talking. I love him so much

Our small miracles were born on 22 march weighting 635 grams and 890 Grams, after a very difficult week during which my wife had a lungs edema because of the medicaments given to treat the contractions. Lucas was a little bit impatient and came home almost 6 weeks before his due date!. Lucía had to grow a little more and become stronger, but she has finally been sent home today!. Even though our babys had very few complications, God help all of them, in one way or the oder. They only need strong parents, love, breast milk(!!) and time to grow...

I am a mother a 25 month old (22 months adjusted age) preemie. He was born at 1 pound 3 ounces, 11 1/2 inches long. My son spent 4 1/2 months in the NICU, was on almost every breathing machine, had a grade 4 brain hemmorage, seizures, ROP, and pneumonia. It was a trying time and it still is at times, but he is doing much better than anyone expected. Of course we have been to the hospital a few times for surgeries and illnesses, but he is growing and learning day by day. I don't know why he came so early, but I do know that he is truly a miracle and I am grateful to have him in my life. I am glad to hear stories of older preemies who are thriving and living relatively normal lives. It gives me hope that I will be able to see my son reach most if not all milestones. I am grateful to share my story and read those of others who share most of my joys and sorrows.
