PLEASE READ!!! My cousins were born prematurely and I know my aunt went through a lot to raise them as the sweet and beautiful girls they are now. My mother also bore my older sister (first daughter) prematurely in a Thai refugee camp. My sister is fortunate to live a healthy life today. Hi! My name is Whitney. On March 16, 2007, I was 30 weeks pregnant with my son. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to the bathroom. I then went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. I started getting stomach aches. I then went to the bathroom again only to throw up many times in the toilet. My father called my doc and she told him to call 911. The local ambulance came to the house and took me to the hospital. I had to have an emergency c section because I got sick with Preeclampsia that morning. I had been on high blood pressure med for the past few weeks before I got sick. If I hadnt gotten to the hospital that morning right away, my son and I would have died. He was born on March 16, 2007 weighing only 4lbs 1oz. I thank God every day that we are alive and look at life now very differently as very precious. You never know when you will die. Preeclampsia almost took both my unborn son's life and mine away forever. That would not have been cool. As of today, 4/17/07, my son, Parker James, is 5lbs 4oz!! He's getting bigger!! He has been drinking Similac NeoSure for Preemie babies because I chose not to breast feed. Please say a prayer that he stays healthy and lives a long healthy normal life in the years to come. My son was born on Feb 6, 2007. I was 33 weeks. Being a first time mom, I am concerned and was looking for POSITIVE info regarding preemies. I found this website and to my dismay, everything on here is doom and gloom!!! i was shocked. Especially the artle by Patti Wrape. Everything in there is negative. Positive thinking creates a positive atmosphere. Parents of preemies should know the facts but don't any of you want to hear positive things????

My son was born 2 months early with no warning or signs of infection. He is doing wonderfully but very behind in development! He is such a blessing and I couldn't imagine life without him. Any suggestions to help with development would be appreciated

MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN AT 27 WEEKS WEIGHING 1lb 10 oz`s.SHE SPENT JUST OVER 3 MONTHS IN HOSPITAL.SHE IS NOW 2YEARS OLD AND DOING ABSOLUTELY GREAT.

My grandaughter was born May 14, 2006, 28 weeks, 2# 8oz. She will be 11 months and she weighs 17#. I was wondering if someone could e-mail me and let me know what development their child is at. Maddie is not totally sitting up and does not roll over. The help me grow organization says that she is doing very well. I just wonered when some of the others developed. My children are concerned. I think she is great. Thanks
