My daughter Sydnee Paige was born on January 16 2007 at 29weeks. She weighed 1pound and 12ounces . Even though she is small and early she is doing well and is healthy.It's really hard She is in Vanderbilt Medical University and I live in Illinois it's about 2 1/2 hours drive . My husband and i visit her once a week. I also have a 2year old at home We are really having a tought time finacially my husband hasn't worked for over 3 weeks and is under doctors care with his back and it's really hard on us with Sydnee being so far away trying to think where we can get the money up each week to visit her. If there is anyone out there who reads this and can help us out with stuff for the baby clothes preemie and newborn bottles diapers anything we would be really greatful for anything since we're having a hard time now providing for her and she deserves the best we can do for her God Bless

I love this web site, I have visited this before, My daughter was born at 24 weeks weighing in at 1lb4oz. she had IVH GRADE 3, ROP and the many ups and downs of all premature babies, she stayed in the nicu at pitt memorial hospital from aug 14, 2001 to nov 17, 2001. she is now five has no problems. perfect 5 year old loving kind and doing great in kindergartan, ballet and starts soccer in a month she is a true blessing. so all you moms and dads with little ones in nicu be patient pray and love that little one because the out come can be wonderful. We never question why we left it up to God and the Drs. and where prepared for anything. My Prayers to all of you pat

I knew all along there was a chance I could have my son early due to an incompetent cervix. A cerclage (sewn shut) was performed and hospital bed rest later followed. At 24 weeks 6 days I went into labor. 2 days later they finally got it to stop. After 50 difficult hours of labor, I had an ultrasound to show my son was breach. I had an emergency c-section after he kicked so hard he tore the placenta. He was born at 25 weeks and was 25 ounces (1 lb 9 oz) and 12 inches. He had a tracheostomy and breathed on a vent. After 7 months in the NICU, he finally came home. He needed a feeding tube eventually. He is turning 2 this April and is a true miracle! He does have mild CP so he's not walking yet but trying to crawl. The NICU isn't fun but it's what you make of it. I learned who everyone was and everything I could. Bobby changed my life forever! I lean on God and trust Him more than I thought I could and each day is 1 step closer to Bobby getting better. He's doing well and although these past 21 months have been trying and very difficult, I wouldn't trade it. Take each day 1 at a time. You'll have good ones and bad but it's important to remember that everything happens for a reason!

I was a premature baby when born I dont exactly remember how premature though I guess I'll have to ask, :-D but I had to wear doll clothes until I was about 1 1/2 years old until normal clothes actually fit me! I think back on that time now and think I was just special because I got to do something that most people wouldn't be able to do and I remember people use to pick on me because I was so small I use to get very upset and then I grew up and realized people are unique in their own special way and no one can change that or hurt you!

I was born over 3 months premature and was in the NICU for over 3 months. All the doctors were sure that I wasn't going to make it but I proved to be a fighter. I weighed 2 pounds 4 oz. and was 10in long. I am doing great and am currently a junior in high school and proudly serving my country in the United States Army National Guard.

My baby girl's due date was 4/13/07. But we didn't make it to that. I didn't have a good pregancy from the begining. I was in the ER twice because of bleeding. The second time they told me I had a 90% chance that i would have a mischarge. I was 4 months along at that time. But we made it threw that and I carried to 23 1/2 weeks. I ended up in the ER again, it was early morning on Dec 21,06. All they did was give me a shot and said I had bladder infectin, then sent me on my way home. Well I ended up there again that night and it was more than what they said. A couple of hours later I had a real little gir. After the doctor told me she's wasn't going to make it, you heard her cry. She was 1pd 2oz 14inches She's going threw alot but is a strong girl, she's now up to 2pd 2oz and is getting bigger and stronger ever day, but we're still saying our prays and thinking god she's still with us.
