I think this site it great. My son was 9 weeks early at 3#6oz. He was crying when he came out and had a few minor setbacks, but came home in 3 weeks. He just turned 1 and is healthy. The only lasting thing he has is reflux.

My son was born 9 weeks early and weighed 3 pounds 8 ounces. We spent 6 weeks in the NICU, however he was never on oxygen and only had problems with sleep apnea. He is now 5 and is in school. He is smart as a whip and you'd never be able to tell he was early. Premies are just so precious!

Jaden was born on 5/9/04 at 26 wks gestataion weighing in at 1lb 12oz. He was intubated for 2months, had a brain haemorrhage, was diagnosed with chronic BPD. He came home on O2, NG tube and the apnea monitor after 4 agonizing months of ups and downs at the hospital. Some doctors said he might not walk or talk, but God decides what and how. He is now a healthy 19month old toddler walking allover the house and its hard to keep up with him. He now eats all by PO. Never needed a shunt. Infact, everything he was diagnosed with has resolved and is on no meds. Praise God for prayers work. To all Moms going through the NICU, there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and he will strenghthen your heart.

My son was born at 32 weeks weighing 4 lbs 9oz. He never needed O2 but had jaundice and also had a bad infection. He had a hard time learning how to suck so he was fed by a NG tube pretty much the whole time he was in the NICU. He was there for 17 days. Thank God for our babies. All of us are truly blessed.

Matthew Walter Wallace Johnston was born at 32 weeks 2 days weighing 1940grams.
we were NICU in Auckland hospital for 3 weeks. Not an experience I would like anyone to go through watching your baby in a glass bubble. (that's what it felt like anyway.
