Phoenix Crystal was born 1lb 13oz on September 18, 2005. I'm 19 and a single mom, so having something as awful as toxemia and then, having to see my tiny baby laying in that isollette was completely overwhelming. I never thought it would happen to me. I recently started kangaroo care after practically demanding for an order for it from her neonatalogist. She loves it! She came off of her c-pap after only a few days, she has very few brady's, and we may even get to bottle feed soon! It really does work. I hope that every parent in the NICU can atleast give it a shot. The benefits are priceless. We are looking to come home in December, and I plan on continuing with it as long as she will have it. I have such a special baby, and kangaroo care is helping me to realize that more and more each day.

My daughter was born at 31 weeks gestation and she weighed 3lbs and was 17 inches. She just turned 2 and is potty trained talks in sentences and very smart for her age. She is healthy and caught up but she does have a little asthma but other than that everyone thinks she's older than she is because she is so smart. She's really never been behind! She's beautiful and healthy thank God!

Finn was 10 weeks early (30 weeks gestation) and apart from a brain haemmorage scare he is fit and healthy. Now 7 months, he is a healthy 21lbs and no one would ever know that he was prem.. But I know - it is only now that the true terror and fear of early labour has come back to me. I must have been in shock at the time. I love him so dearly that I give thanks everyday for his existence. He is my little miracle x
