My twin boys, Dominick (Nickey)MacKenzie and Tristen Grey, were born at barely 34 weeks. They were 4lbs 3 oz and 5 lbs 4 oz. The only problems they had were learning to eat, keeping there temps regulated, and moderate jaundice. I feel so fortunate that what could have been much more severe wasn't. My boys came home after only 2 and a half weeks in the hospital. They will be a year old Sept. 27, 2001. It's nice to find a site with others' stories to support, inspire, and uplift.

My daughter Taylor was born on November 12,1997, her original due date was February 5. She was born at 26-27 weeks gestation. She weighed in at 2lbs 6ozs and 13 inches long. She was a fighter from day one. The only type of oxygen she was on was the nasal prongs. She was only in the NICU for about a 1 1/2 weeks. Then she was transported to the special care nusery where she was released on December 31st. We had her at home for approximately 1 week, then she come down with RSV where she ended up in the hospital again for another week and a half. She stopped breathing on us several times and had to be revived. Taylor will be 4 years old in November 2001. She is a healthy happy little girl and shows no signs of being a premature baby.

My son was born at 30 weeks. He has proven to beat all odds and become a really strong, chubby young man. He only has one problem, which he will grow out of, he has reflux. Besides that he is just as healthy as a fullterm baby!
