I was searching for examples of portrait work when I stumbled across your website. Your work intrigues me. Some pieces I find difficult to understand and to me, feel rather flat, but others completely capture me, amaze me. Io-Lover of Zeus, in particular, eminates incredible energy and depth. It is as though you have captured the essence of a soul. But then that's only how I interpret the painting. My aim as an artist is to capture the essense of the soul but I am struggling to do so. I feel stiffled by a conditioning to depict a recognisable object when all I want to do is be free to paint from the soul. I need some help to work out how to achieve this.
