OUR HOUSE WAS ON A CORNER LOT, BORDERED ON TWO SIDES BY CANALS AND CANE. DAY OR SO AFTER THE FIRE I REMEMBER GETTING UP EARLY FOR SCHOOL AND AS WE SAT AT BREAKFAST WITH THE PATIO DOORS OPEN WE COULD HEAR THE JAMAICAN GUYS SINGING THEIR JAMAICAN SONGS. I REMEMBER ONE TIME A 'WALKING CATFISH, REMEMBER THOSE? THEY WERE ON JOHNNY CARSON; WELL THIS FISH WALKED UP INTO OUR YARD AND OUR DOG MISTER PROMPTLY GOT STUNG OR BARBED OR WHATEVER THEY DID. FUNNY THE THINGS YOU REMEMBER SO VIVIDLY, WHICH, AT THE TIME SEEMED LIKE NOTHING. Nice photo of a cane fire Susan. Was that from this year? I like to see one in the late afternoon in a freeze year like this year. all the top leaves are dead and brown and the fire seems to dance across the sky. I try to describe a cane fire to my out of state internet friends but there is no way to describe the beauty of it. I guess a cane fire is something everyone needs to see once before they die. Has anyone been reading in the newspaper about the dumb yankee from New Jersey who wants to save the muck rabbits that run out of a cane fire? Get a life LOL.

Hello everyone, just want to keep in touch. Sandee & I are still loving living in Central Fl. We really miss Pahokee and all our friends there, I can't beleave we have been gone for almost two years. We are in the process of remodling our home here in Paisley. Which by the way used to have a lake for a front yard, but now is more mud than water, so if anyone wants to mud-wrestle, come on over. Hopefully we will get some rain soon.

David, I am so glad to hear that you are getting thru this treatment with high spirits! I had been told of your illness, but did not want to post it here as I didnt know if you wanted to keep it private. Many prayers have gone up from your friends from Pahokee and they will continue!! Love to you!

This is the first time I have been back to this site for a few months...fighting a small bout with cancer and winning! It's not fun but it can be done. Would love to hear from some of you, especially if you have been through something like this. Susan, please put my name and email address in the list for the class of 1969.
