Hey, do any of you remember Mrs. Helen Aikens? She was Dean of Girls (1966-?). While searching the Internet for links to Pahokee High, I found her obituary...she passed away 6/22/05 in her 90's. I just thought that some of you girls may have some fond memories of her and would like to know.

I was just sitting out here at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center wondering if any of my PHS buddies might happen to be in Houston TX any time during the next five weeks. It would be a real treat to see any of you...if you come to Houston, look me up at the Jesse H Jones Rotary House International Hotel, 1600 Holcombe Blvd...just across the street from the Cancer Center. I fly back to Mississippi every Friday and then return here every Monday.

JUST STAYED IN PAHOKEE LAST WEEK. ENJOYED SEEING EVERYONE. WE STAYED AT THE LAKE AND THOSE GATORS ARE HUDGE. GOD BLESS ALL, IAM FINISHED WITH MY CANCER TREATMENTS AND I PRAY ITS ALL GONE. STAYED TWO DAYS WITH BEV UPTHEGROVE AND WE HAD A BALL.

Stephanie, do they still have the fireworks display like they did in the late 60's? I haven't seen a live fireworks display like that in probably 25 years. The dike was the perfect place for that.
