Thanks for your site. Sorry about the loss of your companion. My cat Nicholas was a great comfort to me when my church let me down after one of my siblings was molested there. Nicholas died in December of 1998 and it was very sad. Tiffany is our new cat, and she is the official web site kitty of my site for victims of abuse in the Orthodox church. She is always ready to bring love and comfort to us, and we are so thankful for her. We named her after the feast of Theophany -- we adopted her on that day! Greta

This is a wonderful site. I have been priviledged to have had many beautiful animal friends who have come and gone in my life. I currently own a beautiful male shorthaired cat who was severely injured after being hit by a car. With the hands of many caring surgeons and a very big miracle my cat Chester was healed and recovered. I prayed for my beautiful cat and within a day I was witness to a miracle. I thank God every day for this beautiful friend of mine. May God bless you and keep you and may the Holy Theotokos keep you in her shelter.

Your site is enjoyable and educational. My family and I are journeying toward Orthodoxy, and are impressed with how balance and holistic Orthodox thought is. Your site fits right in! Just last week our beloved black & white cat, Mouse, had to be put down after nearly 18 years with us. It was a sad day, and we miss him, but it was a release for him. We have three rambunctious year-old kittens who also miss him, but fill in the gap with their love of life. Our children are 12, 10 & almost 8, and were able to understand what was happening and say their goodbyes. We all thank God for Mouse being part of the family. Most Protestant denominations have nothing to do with prayer for pets, or anything like it. I know people who have been chased away from Christianity because of this, and I am going to send your site link to those I can. The first earthly creatures, other than His parents, to see Jesus Christ Incarnate were animals! God has given them special abilities and blessings. Thanks again for your caring site. Hi Lydia, I couldn't find your email address and I wanted to let you know about Sheba (my horse)so I'm letting you know here (and everyone else). Sheba was battling a severe leg problem most of her life. 2 years ago, they told me to completely retire her because her leg became so bad. Recently an abscess developed which was quite painful. The other day when I went to soak it, it had burst open and was very painful so I called my vet and said “enough - it’s time” and laid her to sleep. It’s difficult for me to describe the relationship I had with Sheba. It was like that of a seeing-eye dog to a blind man. She came into my life when I first began to rely on a wheelchair and became my legs taking me to places I could never see – only imagine from descriptions I have heard. Because of her, I learned the beauty of God’s creation and added strength to my belief when it was failing – she guarded my soul. Together, we traversed countless dangers alone, but she always brought me home safely – she guarded my body. As everyone knew us, our lives were so intertwined – and as complex that life can sometimes be, she was a faithful guide. God sent Sheba into my life to fulfill a mission, and she did it exceedingly well. God would only take her if he knew I’d be O.K. and be able to carry on… So I will.

Hi Are you a veggie yet? I have been a fish/eggs/dairy almost-veggie for 1 1/2 years now but aside from Lent I'm too weak to go further right now. I love your site. It is the best. We have been Orthodox for 10 years now, we go to a Greek Orthodox church here. Peace, and bye for now Deb
