Would love to know how you and your current fur kids are! Just read an amazing book: "A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog." by Dean Koontz. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. You absolutely must read it.

Hello! I was moved by your message since I hold similar views with you. Unfortunately, our Orthodox church has not made a clear stance towards pets, and as far as I'm aware, many priests have a negative view point in owning pets, on the whole, which I cannot comprehend nor accept. Hopefully, in the near future this will soon change into a positive attitude! P.S. I was curious, are you Russian since you named your dog Yuri? Since you report that Yuri was 18 when he passed on, depending on his breed and size, that would make him approximately 88-years-old in human years! Therefore, due towards your immense love and affection towards Yuri, he lived a long, abundant life! All the best and God's grace with you and your future pets! :)
