It is with great pleasure and honor, that I extend my most heartfelt congratulations and thanks, to both Shihan's Diaz and Medina along with many others, for their tireless efforts in re-establishing the mecca of Miyama Ryu JuJutsu; the hombu dojo; Tremont school of Judo, JuJutsu, Karate and Aikido; the house my father built. I experienced sadness as well as excitement as I attended the re-opening ceremonies.The sadness was obvious, the Shinans' physical presence was missing. However,as Shihan's Diaz and Medina, the Bronx borough president and myself cut the red ribbon commemorating the new beginning, the excitement was felt in the air. I was back home where it all began and where I've grown since I was three yrs. old, surrounded by many like myself, and (he) was there with us, the connection was made. At that time, I committed myself as Soke (inheritor)of Miyama Ryu JuJutsu to working closely with both Shihan's Diaz and Medina in re-establishing our hombu dojo to its prior standards of excellence, as well as promoting Miyama Ryu JuJutsu, Judo, Karate and Aikido, as they were originally taught in their purest forms by my father, Shinan Antonio Pereira. In my father's memory, I invite all who have read these words, to visit the hombu dojo, you will be welcomed home with open arms......as I was. Soke Antonio Pereira Jr.
