Think of the Children...

My Millenium Message:
I wish I could have Children of my own but this is not yet an option. I suffered years of sexual and physical abuse. when i tried to talk to my parents they ignored me, I wish every child out there who is hurting, to be able to find a trustworthy, helpful, understanding person to confide in Every Person out there should be able to listen to the cries of the innocent children and help them without doubt.

My Millenium Message:
One thing I find really beneficial is to get my kids involved. We go through their toys, books, and clothes, and they pick out things to give away. Sometimes we take the donations to the local woman and children's shelter, which really gives the kids an immediate sense of helping out: they can see the need for themselves. We encourage them to pick out things they know other kids would like, and this year my daughter, who is almost 6, is picking out things I know she still would like to keep. It makes me feel so good to know she is already getting the concept of giving for the good of giving, not just because she has outgrown the shoes, etc. One thing I think adults can do is not ignore abuse when you see it. Too many times, we tend to look the other way, or deny what we can see with our own eyes. This happened to me when I was a child; I know so many people knew what was going on in our house but they didn't want to get involved, and I wonder how much different my life may have been if they had made the hard choice to *do* something. Great site, BTW, and a wonderful cause! 8^)

Of all the upcoming hoopla I have seen regarding the new Millenium, this site is, by far, the most sensible, practical, and, dare I say, hopeful. Keep up the good work, Sister Sue.

i feel honoured to be the first guest to sign the book on such a wonderful website. the contents of the website has raised my awareness to issues that we do not think about in everyday life and maybe we could think about them a little more often and make a difference in the lives of our children and generations to come. i believe with a little more thought from everybody about others the world could be a better place. wishing everybody peace and happiness in the new millenium.
