This is a great site! I'm a transplantee, to W. SC. (31 yrs. now) only to find that my gggGrandfather Thomas Triplett first showed up in Burke co., N.C. in 1789, (what a surprise) in what is now Mitchell co. He and his family must have led a very low profile as there is no record of who his wife was or from where he came from, before then. His oldest son married a "Cox," the next married a "Link," then a dau. UKN., then a son who married a "Freedman,", then my ggGr. who married a Mashburn, 2 daughters who married "Pence," brothers, and his youngest dau. who had Children by a McKinney. Thomas's last child was b. in 1807. I'm so hopeing that someone can tell me something, (no matter how small) that I can work on. Thank you, Take care, Dory

Anyone here related to Edna Georgia,Estella,Margret "Peggy",Tom or Virginia Bennett ch/of Alford Wm. Bennett & Mollie Etta Laws , grandchildren of Uriah Baxter Bennett & Dicey Clairissa Briggs -Bennett,whose family has been in Bakersville and the surround for a hundred years or so. Baxter died in Relief,Bradshaw in abt 1920. Would love to hear from kin,also related to Laws, to Davis,Mckinneys,Oaks,Guinn/Gwyn,Sizemore,Trent,Deyton and so many more from that area.
