I love Bakersville, When I am done with College i plan to go back and visit all my family. I wans to look more into my family history so if anyone has any information on the freemans, gouges, mc kinney i would like to know. My grandma is romaine gouge her mom was jessie and her father was poppy doc. My papaw was milard gouge i dont know much about his side. My family roots are in Bakersville N.C.my fathers family is from there including my Aunt Romaine Gouge and cousins.I have fond memories of visiting my family and making good friends never to be forgotten.

I am looking for info on my grandfather, Steve Alexander Holder, who was born in Bakersville on Feb. 2, 1874. I believe his father's name was Dan. He married Sarah Estep. If anyone has info I would appreciate it.
