I have had the pleasure of visiting your wonderful town. I have friends (Laz and Olga Aguayo and Royce Johnson) that live there and I try to visit every couple of years. I plan to move there to live in the next year or so. Thank you for your wonderful community.

My dad is Bill Stanley, who was born and raised in Bakersville. He was born in 1931. His mother's name was Birdie Garland. His father was James Stanley. I looked into the Guest Book for Bakersville, and see that someone mentioned Garland's Store in town. Maybe that is someone who is related to us. I don't know anything about my dad's family, except his sister, Ileene, whose family we are still close to. If anyone related to the Garlands or Stanleys reads this, please e-mail me. I would be glad to hear from you and learn more about my dad's family.

I visited your beautiful town last fall and had a wonderful time! I was studying some genealogical records in your library and historical society and wanted to thank both groups for spending so much time helping me with my research. Your resources are wonderul and these groups definitely need everyone's support. I descend from David Baker and Mary Webb and would love to hear from anyone who is researching this line as well as the McKinney's.

Hi, I was born on the Pumpkin Patch on little rock creek in 1935. I went to Bowman School one year. I still have many relatives living in that area. My parents are buried at the McNeill cemetery in White Oak. We visit the area as often as possible. Really enjoyed the view from the new court house. Hope the old court house is still there. My dad took me to town on a wagon and we saw Bill Monroe and the blue grass boys perform on the steps of the court house. Would not take any thing for the memories of living there when I was a kid. Thanks for letting me make these comments and hope that some one might read them.
