I think it needs to be jazzed up a bit I mean its to simple, but then again so is this town. I grew up here and I would exdpect nothing better then simple from the local people. I think we should try atleast to get out of our boreingness and try a little harder.
bye ;-) -B

I have been doing research on the Bakers of Bakersville. My husband is a descendent of David Baker. It was fun to visit your site and see the town in virtuality. One day we hope to visit

My parents, Roy and Elizabeth Reed, moved their five children to Bakersville in 1936, and we spent five wonderful years there during the Great Depression. We moved from there to Weaverville, NC and I worked as a reporter and editor for the Asheville Citizen-Times for a number of years before joining the faculty and administration at Western Carolina University. Our home, beautifully kept, remains there and we treasure our memories of Bakersville and the great sense of absolute safety and freedom we enjoyed. I would love to have access to pictrures of Bakersville in the 1930s.
You have one of the best small-town websites I have seen.
